Re: What are you playing?
Also, I'm sort of a strategy guide collector. I don't even use them for most games (my Tomb Raider Underworld one is still in plastic). I am, however, referencing the Dark Cloud 2 guide for those "one chance only" photos, as well as the weapon progression, and jumping jackrabbit, do those charts suck. I've been screwed up so many times now. I'll complete the requirements to build up a weapon, only to realize that I was building up to the wrong one, and so now I have to go back and level it up a crapload again to go for the other one.
I don't remember having this much trouble the last time I played the game, so I must have been using GameFAQs or something.
I finally got the Cinders photo. Fuck my memory, I've played this game several times, and I could NEVER remember to lay down a house and let it burn before I cure the raining fire in Heim Rada. (I do miss the fire, though. It made the place a lot prettier.)

Re: What are you playing?
It's weird, I remember a time before GameFAQs and fast internet where I would chart and map games as a reference, and it ended up being hugely consuming and is now a big part of the nostalgia. I used to have every Coliseum (FF6) item charted with the enemy you'd have to face, and the item you'd win. I remember making Zelda dungeon maps, pages of Castlevania level codes, Game Genie codes I discovered, FFT job requirements, et cetera. Now I've got GameFAQs bookmarked and am often too impatient to gruel through discovery again, largely because I don't like repeating things in games anymore.dj_ultima_the_great wrote:I am, however, referencing the Dark Cloud 2 guide for those "one chance only" photos, as well as the weapon progression, and jumping jackrabbit, do those charts suck. I hated those one-chance-only photos in DC2, though, because it would really frustrate me if I knew I'd missed one. So I just ignored guides and went photo crazy, trying not to care about the hard-to-get ones.

I'm playing Tales of the Abyss, and I am loving it. All the characters are pretty awesome, particularly Jade. What makes me happy is that I've got Tales of Vesperia and Tales of Graces F both yet to play as well. And I heard a rumor that Tales of Xillia might be getting localized soon. TALES EVERYWHERE!!!

Mass Effect 3. Still can't finish the single player because I keep going to multi-player. And the Multiplayer Resurgence Pack was released today, so I'll be running wild (hopefully as an Asari Justicar...fuck the Batarians).
