Hmm... I considered that cutting it short might keep it strong as well, but if you have seen any footage of Ui or the teacher that could be a good reaction, giving that a shot could bump the clip up without much more work. In fact rewatching it I thought the place you mentioned at 'buy our album' would fit for one. You could even end the clip on a reaction shot to let it end on a high note (For example, think of last year with Haruhi singing Funky Town, in the reaction vid Kyon's face caused a huge laugh at the very end of that clip). Your clip itself gave me a smile for a good 10 seconds before I started expecting something different to happen, which is perfectly fine for a quicky. If it's placed strategically after an appropriate clip, it could actually draw humor from it, but that depends on what's submitted this year so it's risky to hedge on that.

If you haven't watched it recently, check out the Otakon reaction vids again and sit back and look at each clip in terms of why it's getting the reactions it does, and that could open up some potentials for you. If you want some punchy stuff, don't be afraid to edit together your own audio as well. I still find myself wanting to make some explosion clips :P

I'm still working on the revised time line for ReHeated but, for some reason, Vegas has caught a case of teh dumbz and brought up the mp4s where "video stream attributes could not be detected."
I need to find where the reformatted versions of those are and replace them.
I'll have something for y'all to look at in the next couple of days.
Meanwhile, I actually have an idea or few for clips this time.
I was thinking about subheading this year "Party Platter," where the unifying theme would be upbeat songs and the central figures in the clips are celebrating something (or even nothing).
If not this time, maybe next?
Just a thought.
Anyway, back to work...

So is it possible to still make a few clips for this? The swans mentioned this to me at Anime Boston and it sounds like fun and I got some ideas I could probably crank out in a decent amount of time.

Took longer than I wanted to, but here's my next one. Let me know what you all think, and please let me know if anything is distracting or off and I'll try to fix it. The footage was limited for... er... plot reasons (;)) so hopefully the idea works. Please let me know if you have footage ideas or whatever that you think could be stronger as well, because I'm definitely open.
So nice to hear Steven parodied again :D Always wanted to use him as a source. That'll be a good one, a little long to reach its point, but that makes it all the better especially since you chose good footage and strong editing. Although my one suggestion would be to make him extremely proud about having herpes. Him looking confused about it wasn't quite as funny to me as if he were proudly declaring it to haruhi :D Especially after being all teary-eyed. But still wonderful

Hearing that we have until the end of May as the initial deadline makes me so friggan relieved. I thought it was end of April. Not sure why... anyway, I've got more ideas and plenty will be done if that's the case. I have two potentials for an intro this year that I am starting to like. They may require a lot of footage searching and I'd need some help if I did them, but let me know what you think:

Intro Idea A) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVdTbiLku48 Batman Beyond intro with Mutsulini from Baka to Test in his ninja outfit going through similar motions as Batman does cutting together to some of the various more risque scenes from previous AMVS clips, and changing the words in the intro to various fetishes, then instead of "Batman" I do AMVS6. This is a pretty badass song, not to mention the nostalgia hit for many in the audience. A major thing I'd love to do is find footage of various female characters dancing for that scene in the middle and frame-by-frame them ^^

Intro Idea B) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7jY1KlLcPo Hard Rock Hallelujah from 2:25 to the end of that video using a lot of quick cuts with some effects and I was thinking Alucard singing, and the angels being from Ah Megami Sama and any number of things. Actually this one would be fun to do a collaboration of ideas, because I don't have a concrete idea, and if any of you have any inspiration on footage choices or who could sing and all that it would be fun to discuss and make something all of us had input in. Plus some of you can teach me how to do flame effects :P Plus I admit one reason I wanted to do this was I had an image when I listened a while back of during the end as AMVS would powerfully kind of explode in to the beat, there would be two ghost 6's so it'd be 666 for a moment for kicks.

I'll try to have another clip up next week.

And Shin, welcome! Please do make some clips, I look forward to seeing them. The more the merrier!

That was my mistake.
I dunno why I said the initial deadling is the end of May, either.
But remember that it's just the first call for final submissions.
The final deadline for entries actually is the end of May so we can begin post-production on the AMA beta (final test copy due June 13).
Then we hit the ground for the final push to a polished Otakon final, which should take no longer than a week to decide what may be better where along the time line and such.
And on that note, I'm working on locating the rest of the clips to add in to ReHeated.
I'll have something for y'all to look at by Monday...

First, Gael...the latest clip really caught me off guard.
It's a joke grenade. ;)
Also, I honestly prefer the Batman idea for the intro out of those two.
The second one feels more like a closing theme somehow, with the credits overlaying scenes of anime characters rocking out (but this means foregoing production tags, which I'm not opposed to).

After watching the first half of K-On! first season I think I have a few ideas for clips myself.
Maybe not uproariously funny but at least amusing.
They're all really quick takes as well.

Look for a ReHeated tomorrow or Tuesday (depending on when I have to work)...

I disagree. I think it's too vague to register as a theme.

At about 0:16 the scene after "Man I'm pretty" seems like it may be coming a few frames late-- but it's a strong clip, Bravo's voice really works well w/Kamina.

I changed the "herpes" clip, and will upload a new beta once I improved the lip sync a bit more.

I also think the Batman audio would work better for an intro, though I don't know Baka no Test, so can't judge the idea as a whole.
