Wow, Krat, that's awesome.

Recalculated my taxes again, and I'm actually getting money back now.
Going from owing $900 to being refunded $30 is quite nice.

That's pretty awesome, glad you didn't get stuck with $900 of taxes, that'd be nasty. D:inthesto wrote:Recalculated my taxes again, and I'm actually getting money back now.

Re: Why are you in such a good mood?
One of my favorite bands, Head Phones President had a performance yesterday in my city and I wasn't able to make it because of things coming up (work, family, etc.) I had resigned myself to the fact that I would not be able to see them and just resolved to make sure I saw them if they came back next year but lo and behold, they announced on twitter today that they would be putting on another performance in another venue in my area and I will ensure I am there for that one. Earlier this year, I had declared that for me 2012 was going to be the "Year of Music" and it seems the fates are willing to definitely make it so.

That's pretty awesome.Kristyrat wrote:So, today was a pretty incredible day all-in-all. First day of C2E2, the Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo. Kiki got us Professional badges since I was planning on shooting stuff for our documentary. We got there hours before the general public, got to meet and chat with a ton of awesome people. Notably, Mark Waid, writer of one of my favourite series and also the person responsible for getting me back into comics. He was incredibly interested in the documentary and was totally up for being interviewed in the future. Got to meet and get autographs from Scott Snyder, and we're bringing more stuff tomorrow because there were a ton more people we didn't even realize would be there.
Mark Waid being interested in the project is a huge boost to my confidence about the whole thing, and having him in it would be phenomenal, not only because he's so huge in the industry, but because he has such a fascinating view on independent comics that would really round out the project.
Speaking of star power, as a last minute surprise, Shia Laboeuf showed up in the artist's alley to sell a comic he self-published. We got in line to meet him and ended up chatting with him for close to ten minutes (he was actually pretty cool and really interested in independent comic work) By the end of it, we exchanged contact info and he made me promise to contact him about the documentary because he really wanted to be a part of it! It's a long shot for sure, but man, how awesome would that be. Another foot in the door, if nothing else.
