Re: The Lip Flapper : Volume 19 - Chiikaboom
Chained(e)Studio just told things better than me and this is exactly what I think. I never meant that to both love anime and editing is impossible but I guess my english is quite limited to be perfectly clear. Anyway, consider what she said is my op.
And you see, watching all these people acting like 'I did edit this because I love this show' just to show their support is really funny... Do you think I see animes as stock footage myself? I actually never edited something that I hadn't seen before and that I didn't like but what I think is just not about this.
Nevermind anyway, it makes me bored.

Wait wait that doesnt make any sense though.Chained(E)Studio wrote:I'm not, I'm only saying the moment you have standards (regardless of how big or small in technical junk blah blah) is the moment your no longer the "minority". No longer the editor who just makes videos for the sake of making videos.
The moment you have standards does make you the minority. Because the majority of people who make amvs don't. You know, the thousands of videos out there that is just a naruto fansub slapped onto the timeline with a linkin park mp3. Thats the majority of people who make amvs. Thats why when you try to get someone you know to watch an amv, you have to convince them that, yes 99% of amvs are crap but theres the odd good one.
The entire org community here is a minority. The org community on the forums is a minority. And i feel like im the minority of that minority and-
@MimS we were just messing around after all the dramas, lighten up.

Re: The Lip Flapper : Volume 19 - Chiikaboom
It's the "bad" vids that have those problems, not the "old" vids. When I joined, old fashioned meant straight cuts and no effects - the only sort of editing you could get with 2vcrs. That continues to be my definition of "old fashioned" - "simple" vids with "oldschool" editing. Old fashioned refers to the editing style, not the newbishness of the person editing *in* that style.Chained(E)Studio wrote:Hmmm, the only "old fashioned" editors out there are the new editors who are starting out and editing with footage full of credits and subs. Those who don't worry about aspect ratio in their AMVs or what lip flap is going on.

I'm talking about AMV Communities as a whole. It doesn't matter where you come, what community you are apart of. A minority isn't made up of what you feel, what you edit, and why you edit. A minority is "The smaller in number of two groups forming a whole."
Example "I feel Black, so I must be a minority." >.> ( <---- wrong o-o)
The minority in editing is the editors who lack knowledge. The ones who haven't learned standards (by standards I mean the basic knowledge in technical aspects of editing, whether its to edit to RAWS .avi, compress your AMVs to mp4, convert using virtualdub, not unclick maintain aspect ratio in vegas, crossfade or hardcut, long scenes versus short scenes, proper transitions, and so on and so on .. etc.)
Org isn't a minority, AMVNews isn't a minority, YouTube isn't a minority.
Its knowledge versus lack of knowledge.
