I don't want to edit with overpopular anime just to get in... but it seems that really is the case for these things, huh. :uhoh:
I edit with DBZ and Naruto which are the bane of every AMV judge. :awesome: :ying:

I'm quitting while I'm ahead since I can't keep it up much longer. :bear:

At least you got in more videos the years before....and took away the prize from Rider if I heard right.

It got licensed...so it has some popularity here.

And why are you on here and not on aim? Or at my house? Oh nevermind, you just aimed me now... :ying:

A good contest recognizes good editing regardless of the sources.

If an editor has honestly done everything possible to make their video excellent then they should be a finalist. That means beta testing, listening to feedback, completely reconstructing entire segments from scratch if need be, tweaking and fixing it until the dawn, etc...

If you believe you've honestly done everything that you can do to make your video phenomenal then you should have no regrets. If the judges don't recognize your hard work, it's their own shoe eating that is responsible and there is nothing you can do about that but move on to somewhere you get the respect you deserve.

Otherwise, you've just got to keep trying and not give up hope.

Yeah, that's what I'm doing actually.

I'll make a resolution...if my favorite anime gets licensed in the states, then I'll enter AX again.

Unless there are five other videos editors who ALSO did everything possible to make their videos excellent, and had better concepts...?

x2 for truth.

I actually started becoming more well known when I learned that there were more contests outside the AX bubble. Back then, I thought AX was the ONLY anime con in the states. :uhoh:
