Anime Expo 2012 AMV Contest Thread - WINNERS ANNOUNCED!!!

Well it's more of a matter of the workload on my end. I work two jobs, plus I'm doing all the prep work for this event and AMV Chef. And there's a lot to juggle. I knew that from the outset, but with how I've been trying to expand, revamp, and change things, it's herculean. And I've only scratched the surface of things I want to change. I've been averaging three hours sleep a night for the past month since May, if that gives you any idea. Last night I fell asleep at the computer desk as my PC was rendering away...

But I'm having fun. But it don't mean squat unless you guys have fun too.

Ahh, I see. That makes sense then.

Get some sleep, dude! Even though it may be fun, we don't want you to crash during the contest.

Why not start work on amvs in the fall when all of the big cons have died down and there's Thanksgiving/Christmas vacations (especially when you're a student, those go a long way).

That way, you'll have amvs ready to go when the big cons start in the spring/summer.

Soooo... if I were to move next year's deadline to mid April as I'm presently planning, that would be bad? ^^;;;

I would actually love that >_> For once the deadline wouldn't surround my bday :O (May 1st)

That is what I do, but the thing is, I'm extremely slow in making AMVs. Not to make this as an excuse, but because I'm hard of hearing, it takes me a lot longer and I have to work a bit harder to actually hear the lyrics/beats/ect for the song. What people can normally put out in a few days/months, it takes me a few months with just simple editing.

I'm not even going to start with the effects with my nearly blind eyes...

Even starting as early as summer, most of the time, I still barely manage to finish an AMV by the deadline.

My newest one took me 6-7 months to finish.

It took you what...a couple of WEEKS to do Bulletproof? And the only reason it took you so long to edit Witchcraft is because of school and that you got sick of editing it and don't like you wouldn't have done any more to it anyway ;p

So should I announce the intended playback order for pre-show, or should I let that be a surprise? (Leaning toward the latter)

I would LOVE, to see this list because I want to know whether my AMV was disqualified because of content (violence and nudity) or if it was the judges' subjective opinion to keep it out! Btw... I added it to the announcement thread in case anyone's interested
