I kinda dread posting PA2...it has so many things...but hopefully they will reinstate it like they did the first one. Then I'm gonna just make my own anime...and file my own takedown notices :amv:

Actually we did an unlisted YT upload after AN so the other contributers could watch the AN cut and we only got like one claim and it didn't affect PA2 at all. O:

Course I advised our friend to list it in non-profit/activism when he uploaded it. This may have helped us out in some way... <.<

I've always wondered if there ever was a real person involved in the takedown stuff... I've had a bunch of blocks/disputes and I don't think I've had a strike or a full takedown yet, but some of the groups that do it like "Music Video Distributors" or "Rights Collecting Societies"... MVD is just a pay-per-view media thingy, THEY own the rights to someone's songs?

Mostly are just bots/Youtube filters, I think. They wouldn't be bothered much to actually involve themselves directly, especially since most cases are music videos, but correct me if I'm wrong.
I just had another one of my videos taken down by Youtube which granted me a 2nd strike, thanks to Sony Music. I'm filing a counter-claim now.
A friend of mine had disputed her video that used some Korean songs and it got rejected, though. Hopefully I'm lucky enough.

I'm curious how you guys can actually get your terminated accounts back.

So I just filled out my first counterclaim for a video that had only been up for about 20 minutes and not even 10 views.
What surprised me was that the video was directly back up for viewing, yet the claim had not been responded to. I was expecting the video to be down until the counterclaim had been accepted( or down for good if rejected).

Perhaps 'cause it was your first strike (if it did grant you one)?

Anyway, I don't know what I did wrong, but my counter claim was rejected by Youtube ;_; And for some strange reason, I believe it was because of Mirai Nikki..
I'm hopeless at these kinds of things, sobs.

*sorry for double-posting, I meant the rejection to be less stuck like that.
I got this message saying "We are concerned that you may be misusing our counter-notification process and because of this, we are unable to honor this request." and they provided a link if I might want to resend a counter notice again, so.

There's also Vimeo. I'm in the process of uploading my AMVs there. It's going rather well, cause most of what I've uploaded thus far didn't last a day on Youtube due to copyright claims. Sure you "acknowledge claims", but some are taken down without such action, like the ones with music from WMG(Warner Media Group) for example.

As far as AMVs, I (and some of my friends) personally had worse experiences with Vimeo than youtube. They're not really a site for uploading this type of work, and kill accounts with relative little ceremony when it comes to fanvids. Not that I blame them, but AMVs never lasted long there.
