Crap, sorry. The words "the reference" in that post should have been a link to this.drewaconclusion wrote:I'm not sure I recognize the intro reference either.
Step 1: Record the lines spoken (I tried to effect a circusy style of delivery, to match the verbal style of the copy)Rider4Z wrote:mmm that video made me smile i used to own a tape of the main street electrical parade XD loved it when i was a kid. HOW DID YOU DO THAT VOICE OVER???
Step 2: Throw the spoken lines into a vocoder as the "modulator"
Step 3: While playing back the spoken lines (to be able to hear when to change), use a MIDI keyboard to record the chords
Step 4: Throw those chords into the same vocoder as the "carrier"
Step 5: Mute the spoken lines, play back the vocoder output, and tweak settings to taste

No problem. Soon as Rider mentioned the name I figured it out. I've never been there, so I wouldn't have recognized the audio alone.Scintilla wrote:Crap, sorry. Awesome! I'm really excited!! Thank you! Congratulations to all the other winners and Runners up. I really liked seeing the percentage of the votes. It was interesting.Scintilla wrote: Trailer/Parody
Winner: Evil Island by MeliChan923 (59.2% of the vote)
Runner-up: The Kingdom of L.F.S. by DriftRoot
Drama
Winner: Fairytale of Lies by RiderG (31.3% of the vote -- margin of 2 votes!)
Runner-up: Friends Forever by MeliChan923
Scintilla, did you have to use the non-logo version of my video or did the original fly okay?
About that... I'll get it converted eventually. It will be up sometime (hopefully right away) after AX. I dread having to look at Zarx264GUI (or any mp4 converter as a matter of fact) one more time with all the converting disasters I was having with h264. I click on the converter, see it and think Nope... maybe tomorrow. I previewed Fairytale of Lies since it is available. I didn't finish watching it yet though because I'd rather see it for the first time on screen. Between what I've seen of yours and the other finalists I've got my work cut out for me as well. It was difficult to close out of the screen when your video was playing. I really loved what I saw and I just love Within Temptation. Congrats!Rider4Z wrote:egads REALLY?? i got my work cut out for me at AX .... i wanna see Friends Forever already!
Thank you so much! I'm also glad The Kingdom of L.F.S. got an award. That video never fails to floor me, especially when I remember all the work that was put into it. We are competing a lot this year huh?DriftRoot wrote:Whoa...Coordinator's Choice!? Thank you!
Contrats to everyone, it looks like it was a pretty fun time. I'm very glad to see Evil Island stole the show in the trailer category - there are trailer AMVs and then there are trailers which happen to be AMVs, and her's falls into the latter category, as far as I'm concerned!

We used the non-logo version. I will have to add that into the rules for next year, as yours was not the only video affected by this.Melichan923 wrote:Scintilla, did you have to use the non-logo version of my video or did the original fly okay?
