You shouldn't say the Best of the year yet. After all, only Umika knows if this year we're gonna have another release

Re: Metamorphose (Big Contest 2012)
I thought it was visually gorgeous and well put together, but the AMV overall didn't really grab me in any way. Ask me what it was about, and all I could tell you is that there are two guys who seem to have some kind of personal issues with each other, one of them is some kind of demon, and there is some girl who is sad or something about it. It was just one generic shonen drama scene after another, and that doesn't necessarily add up to creating drama. I didn't know who these characters were, how they related to one another and wasn't given a reason to care about them...so when they got shot or cried or looked angsty and whatnot, I didn't really react in any way to it. Perhaps for those more familiar with the series it had more impact, but for me there just wasn't anything there exceptionally unique or moving...other than the beautiful visuals, of course. That's what kept my attention, that's what kept me watching, but I really wish there had been something more than that.
So, with that said: 4/5

Re: Metamorphose (Big Contest 2012)
Shamelessly copying my comment from the contest page:
'Man, this was so fantastic. I loved it so much. Definitely my favorite of this contest. It was perfectly executed; the mood, the scenes, the editing - just so amazing. It could certainly become one of my favorite amvs ever.'
Still not getting enough of it, I watched it so many times by now. If I only had half your talent, I'd be an incredibly lucky girl
Oh, and I loved the story, too. It took me a few times to watch until I got the whole concept because it was very complex (the whole misunderstanding about the 'betrayal' or rather, the murder), but now I can see it clearly, and the way you showed the setting from both of their viewpoints was fantastic. The viewer is left in the dark about what truly happened until the very end, and that adds to the tension. Very, very well done!

And here i thought i was the only one thinking that ...
Wasn't my cup of tea, and some scenes felt totally out of place for me , oh well.
Nice effort tho.

Don't know how many times you watched it, but the story is explained perfectly. If the atmosphere didn't grab you, I can follow, but the story was there But each their own, I guess. :3DriftRoot wrote:I thought it was visually gorgeous and well put together, but the AMV overall didn't really grab me in any way. Re: Metamorphose (Big Contest 2012)
Guys, thank you all for comments. I'm really glad you liked my video.
I was trying to tell my alt-story a bit differently, where the viewer has to make own deductions, considering the plot and characters.
And yes), 3 scenes (2:36, 2:38 and 3:02) were by me, from scratch - that is if you exclude other bits and pieces from the original that were also greatly altered (2:19).AimoAio wrote:did you animate 2 of the scenes in the AMV from scratch yourself?
