Re: In Terminis (Big Contest 2012)
Why would you do that to me? This video was (not) awful. Here is why:
1) WHY WOULD YOU GIVE ME SO MANY FEELS?! THESE FEELS...THEY'RE TOO MUCH. TOO MANY FEELS.
2) The technical work- Y U MAKE OTHER CROSSOVERS LOOK LIKE MS PAINT (except ScorpionsULTD)
3) The song....Y U PICK SUCH AWESOME CELLO-Y SONG?!
4) Air- AIR. That is all.
As you might have guessed, I don't actually think your video is awful and, in fact *plays again on loop* I think it likes where it sits on my desktop just fine. This will go with all the nostromo and soul eater AMV's I have perched on my dash
As for real critique, well you earned an op in my book, so I'll go ahead and...run...over...there right- *breaks down and cries eyes out* <-- See?

Re: In Terminis (Big Contest 2012)
It was a technically impressive amv. A very seamless crossover. But I'm not so sure what's left though if you just treat it as an amv compiled of a single source. I'm not sure how to put it in words but this kind of a straight and linear narrative just doesn't do the trick. It looks like you were forcing it too much, rendering it kinda artificial-looking. I know this is precisely the type of an editor-constructed storyline that could be expected from a crossover amv but I think you should have obfuscated things more so that the audience couldn't really tell exactly what's going on, creating the illusion that there are layers and layers of background to these characters, which is just hidden from the audience. Compared to some other crossovers like Metamorphose and Traumerei, which are much more abstract in their very form, I think this one seemed too simplistic in terms of the narrative content.
I'm still gonna rate it 4/5 tho. It's nonetheless a very nice amv

Re: In Terminis (Big Contest 2012)
Concept-and storytelling-wise this video was something out of the ordinary and well executed. The actual editing leaves much to be desired though. Especually as the scenes went by too fast, transitions and effect work was too choppy and left me rather annoyed instead of being absorbed by the sad story this video wanted to tell. I'm giving props for the content, but as said...the video would have benefited from better flow.
