Who is your favourite anime villian of all time and why?

Griffith (Berserk)
Makoto Shishio (Rurouni Kenshin)
Sousuke Aizen (Bleach)

Aizen used to be higher on my list until Kubo ruined his character by giving Ichigo a plot coupon and making Aizen act like a retarded butterfly during the end arc. Shishio is a classy villain... a total badass from start to finish. And Griffith... well, I could write volumes about him, but suffice it to say, he's enigmatic and cold but also contradictory and very well developed. He's hard to figure out, and that's part of what makes him so fascinating.

Both are just completely badass.

I like more Anti-Hero/Grey area type characters than villians though. Like Izaya (Durarara!), Accelerator (Index), Xellos (Slayers), Revy (Black Lagoon) or Yomi (Ga:Rei Zero)...etcccc

Sorry for the double post, forgot to give my reason why.

Out of the three, I choose Liebert just because he was such a freakin' confident beast and leader from the beginning. I mean, you search this whole anime show and everyone is scared of Liebert and, even though you barely see him in the show, you start to understand that it was more than just fear that was driving his followers, it was also Liebert's charisma. Not to mention, you see this kind and trusting soul in him but, once he gets inside your head, he does his best to manipulate your mind and make you kill yourself. That or he'll just get someone else to do it for him. The weirdest thing is that you never truly understand Liebert even after the show, you only understand the people chasing Liebert and his followers. Thus, just lies a great mysterious villain.

Because his m/o is that virgins are the chosen ones. I thought that explanation of his motives was freakin hilarious. And he was a pretty big douche about it throughout the series. Wanna guess WHY he's a virgin?
