Congrats to all the winners.
I can really say all of you who won deserved it. =3
And I'll also hop on the bandwagon and say Concourse Hall was better than Hall G. I got a better experience rewatching the AMVs the second time around than the first.
As for the videos themselves, I also feel with Castor for the AMTV-Pro category. They were very good videos in there, but some of them felt a little dragged out with being nothing but pretty effects. It doesn't mean the AMVS werent exceptional in their own right, I just felt for me, they were a little dragged out.
Mel and Ryder: Congrats to you too. It was nice seeing you guys. And Ryder, you make a very cute Link. XD
I guess it would be too selfish though to ask why my AMV was skipped over in the second showing of preshow...? Yeah, too selfish, ignore me.

Re: Anime Expo 2012 AMV Contest - FINALISTS ANNOUNCED!!!
Considering how much more the amv contest showings were packed in comparison to the masquerade and the reactions to the amvs in comparison to the masq skits....xstylus wrote:
Anyway, in summary, this year's objective was "shock and awe". I wanted to astound everyone with the quantity and quality of AMV Events at AX this year. Everything Vlad and I have heard indicate that it was quite successful, but I'll let you guys be the judge.
Also the attendance to the AMV Chef and Vlad's AMV Interactive events.
I think amvs win by a massive landslide. AX would be shooting itself in the foot by not having a full dedicated AMV room next year.

As always, it seems that at the initial showing of the contest I cannot remember half the videos not because they weren't any good, but more because by the time the contest starts on Day 1, its been a long day already and I usually just want to go home. Watching the re screen with a bit less fatigue allowed my to enjoy it a little more and there were some purty good vids. The more enthusiastic audience doesn't hurt either. Congrats to the winners, pretty cool to see the editors get some love en masse, very nice.
And also, it was good to put faces to usernames. I think i've talked to more people this year than ever and that made up for a con that didn't have too many events aside from AMVs that I wanted to go to. Hopefully I can pull my head outta my ass and try to be more active around here, I always say Im gonna do it and never do so...yea...
Finally, I was extremely happy to see Castor make a killing at the contest. I've been a big fan of his ever since I saw "Go The Distance" at AX 08 ( Im still trying to figure out why that wasn't in with the Finalists ) He's one of the reasons why I took up this hobby and to see him have such a send off was pretty cool.
Oh and props to Vlad, I'm convinced he's some sort of Canadian cyborg sent from the future to spread the gospel of AMVs.

congratz to all the winners. I plan to go to AX next year, so I look forward to meeting everyone who plans on going again next year.
Which reminds me, what were the results of the Iron Chef and how do I go about challenging the victor for next year?
