At 0:17 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOpzsUWXdw4&feature=plcp The video has 2 layers with each layer doing a different transition but then meet at the same time, I'm asking what the transition are and how to achieve that colour.

I could probably show you how to do something like that, but frankly, I just don't want anybody doing that effect... ever...

I think i actually like that effect.Lmao
its simple. you just make two layers (One over the other) and change the mode to difference.
