My operating systems professor looks like a slightly shorter, chubby, Romanian zephyrstar.

I got my pellet stove inspected finally after one failed appointment last weekend. The dude actually told me more about the damn thing than I ever knew or any previous inspection person had bothered to mention... Including how to make it run quiet instead of at the ~70dB level I was used to it running at and why it randomly stopped running some times.

Re: The Happy Thread
Have one grade forgiveness left. Realized I can use it on Diff Eq this semester. Actually kinda excited about using it even though, after so many credits, replacing one class's grade is like a drop in a bucket.

Hmm... I should've done that...Taite wrote:All A+'s this semester, and a 31 on my first ACT. Just need to bump that up, and finally my plan for escape shall be successful
Well... I don't really have a plan of escape but I do have a plan to make it into my university as cheap as possible.
Basically, Each school semester costs around $5,000 for tuition only (All my hate, fyi). Soooo~ I found out that they have a QTR (Qualified Tuition Reduction) program, which is what I'm assuming to be the same as a work-study program but you just have to be qualified as an employee. Anyway, from what I'm understanding is that university is reducing my tuition from $5,000 down to $475 (F*** YEAH!!!) and, if I'm lucky enough to get a job for a dorm... Possibly (Really Hoping I do), then I can probably avoid paying for Dorm fees as well (Which is $6,000 for a whole year), and all I would have to pay for is just a highly reduced tuition payment program, a meal plan (If I think I need one... Doubt it...) Books and just the usual fees that come with going to a university... Either way... I'll be heading to probably the best university in my state (Because they helped fund our newly elected governor's campaign so, if he wants to make a comeback re-election, he's gonna have to do some favors for the university ;D) and, if I get just one small scholarship, I could be looking at a paved-free semester to the university of my choice!
Its good to wanna be smart about money

Re: The Happy Thread
So I had my second interview yesterday with my Boss for the position I've been stressing over the past month or so. The position was for a Specialist but my boss didn't feel that any of the candidates, including myself, were really up to that level. Honestly, he's right, I'm definitely not. Even though I have the technical skills and experience, I lack others that the position requires. While I know I am capable of learning and handling the responsibilities, his decision to not hire me as a Specialist makes sense. That said, he offered me the job as a Technician II, with the intent to move up to a Specialist.
So yea, after 4+ years working there part time, I'm finally going to be full time. Exciting.
