My external hard drives...Otherwise my 5-6 year-old computer wouldn't be able to handle new footage. That and a pair of headphones.

I *could* live without my graphics tablet, but not if I intend to mask much.

Taken for granted ... hrm. I would say this site. I mean technically I could still physically edit but thinking back it would not have been the same. A significant amount of knowledge and expertise was shared to me during my active years. To consider what came before all the knowledge was pooled online and the difference online interaction meant is staggering. Definitely no one physical tool can compare.

Re: Editing-wise, What can't you live without??
I've used many different editing software and computer configurations... Non-Linear and Linear timelines, simple cut/join applications, notepad, small screens, large screens, single monitor, dual monitors, desktops, laptops and from starting with a 486mhz CPU up to my current dual quad core 2.93ghz setup. I've used tape decks as well as a single 20gb hard drive for the OS, Applications, and source to edit with as well as multiple terabytes of storage at my disposal. I've used slow USB 1.0 external hard drives as well as fast internal SATA III SSDs. I've spent over 2 years editing a single video and as little as two hours from beginning to end during live editing competitions. I've made things that were both meaningless and very personal. I've won awards and received praise. I've also accepted harsh criticism, both artistically and personally.
If there is one thing I couldn't live without it would be not being able to physically and mentally express myself on the timeline. Everything else is just a tool or a product of that.

The fact that I can download anime. If I had to edit with only the series that I owned, you'd be seeing only Basilisk vids.
