ZZ Top's new 10 CD set coming out June 11th is only $50!

On June 11th, "That little ol' band from Texas", ZZ Top is releasing a 10 CD box set called "The Complete Studio Albums (1970-1990)". This set will not only feature every single album they recorded for Warner Bros. Records, but the original mixes of "FIrst Album", Rio Grande Mud, and Tejas will be available on compact disc for the first time ever in this set! Each disc is packaged in a mini LP-replica sleeve replicating the jackets for the original vinyl releases of each album, including the gatefold sleeves for Rio Grande Mud and Tejas. And best of all, this whole set will only cost $50! That's a steal for a 10 disc set! As soon as I found that out I couldn't help myself and I pre-ordered immediately! I can't wait 'til I get it! I'm so excited for this set!

? did they say if it was a mix of Live and 1st Mastered songs or just the Original Masters ??

Black Sabbath .. Z.Z.Top .. Blue Oyster Cult .. Def Leppard .. Pink Floyd, you don't get any better than these five bands!

A lot of people re-master the old song and destroy them in the process,
very few people just "clean and remix" the originals so "we" can hear what they heard when the first recorded it.
Unfortunately, they both follow under todays definition of Masters and no one bothers to separate the differences anymore.
Therefor .. which masters are being released on these new releases?

The set is new masters of the original tapes. The 80s drums and effects are not present.

It's still ZZ Top and it's still the same song 10 times per album though.

THx. ^__^ { its sad when the over 30's generation understands "tapes to CDs" however, those under 30 will be asking the same questions of their groups when they update CDs to MP17's someday. Again, THx for the answering.
