Hi, sorry, I'm new to the .org...
I notice on some videos on the database that cons they participated in are bolded, presumably indicating they were finalists? Is there something the editor does on their end to indicate that when posting a vid, or is it a coordinator thing, or...? My videos don't seem to indicate that so I'm wondering if I missed something. Thanks!

Re: Setting vid as finalist?
When the entry is bold+green+italic, it means the creator of the contest has confirmed the entry as actually participating in the contest. Not everybody that manages contests actually bothers with confirming the entries, though, so if unconfirmed, the entry will stay listed as regular black.

Re: Setting vid as finalist?
Hello:
I have run a number of AMV contests for the Kumoricon anime convention.
Where do I look on the site to confirm AMVs which have run as finalists in these contests,
or have won categories and prizes?

First, you need to log in and make sure you have included your AMV contest in the contests calander. Once you do that and people select your contest as having submitted their videos you can then go back to the contest calander, see your contest that you created, and there should be a tab with videos submitted. You can then set these videos as having confirmed competed or not.

Re: Setting vid as finalist?
Your question is unclear... Are you looking to mark videos as having competed in your contests? Or checking what other contests videos were sent to? Either way, the system doesn't actually work like that. People choose to mark their videos as competing. As a coordinator, you can only confirm or deny that assertion.
Even then, most coordinators don't bother with it, or don't keep up with it. There's no alert feature for it, and the standard for the yes/no vote isn't clear. It technically is a submission list, so some coordinators mark everything that was sent in at all - there is no finalist/non-finalist designation.
