Looking for good seinen, thriller or general msytery stuff
Hi community!
I'm writing a story for an all-new manga project I want to present
in a good editorial group. I got the chance to be evaluated by one
of the best comicbook editors of this country so I want to do something
really really good. I thought in a 160-page manga story. I have the idea
and it's a thriller. But I'm not an expert because all my life I just wrote
and drew shounen mangas. That's why I'm posting here, because I need
to study and gain influences and experience. I collected movies and books
good for this topic, but I think I need to read more mangas or watch more
anime series about this.
Some examples of series and mangas I loved in this topic are Monster, Lain, Death Note
or Ergo Proxy (Well, it's more Scifi but still good mystery and drama there).
Bizarre mystery is good for me...so, my dear friends; What can you recommend me
to watch or read?? Thank you!

Junji Ito, who is very much a horror manga writer, nonetheless writes some incredibly vivid stuff. I would highly recommend reading some of it just to get a feel for atmosphere.

I would recommend you Ikigami, set in an alternative Japan of the present years, where all of the students are forced to be injected once they get to primary school, and one out of 1000 syringes contain a micro-chip that would explode some years later on a decided day - the government believes by doing so the people would live their days as if they were their last, since no one knows if he/she has a micro-chip inside them or not. The great part is that the people who are about to die recieve a letter from the government just a day before their death that says they were the chosen ones (and info about the exact second of dying), and it's exciting to watch what are their final plans, how they face death, what acts of revenge they are plotting before leaving this world... it's amazing.

Homunculus
Aku no Hana

These are all manga recommendations btw. Only 4 of these have anime adaptations (BLAME!, Mirai Nikki, Shigurui, Aku no Hana), but I still recommend reading the manga instead.pacotacoshell wrote:Oyasumi Punpun

Check out some of Tezuka's more mature-oriented works, too - after all, Urasawa took after him in many ways as an inspiration.
One good, realistic drama of his to start with might be Message to Adolf

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I asked in a store for that manga (Message to Adolf) but didn't
arrive yet, seems pretty interesting, thanks.

I'll work in a shounen/comedy manga about a bad devil
If it works, I'll make the english translation to share it with you, people o/
I guess 3,4 or 5 months would be enough for it.
