How can I make my PC better for video editing?

Post by 8bitcritr » Thu Jan 23, 2014 9:34 pm

I just recently started making(or rather attempted to make) AMVs. My first video was pretty good in my opinion, but only when I watch the preview in Premiere. My PC is kinda old and can not properly export it without looking very ugly and the timings are always delayed. I have tried several settings and formats and I put the best one on youtube...it sucks. Here is the result of my first AMV made with this PC

Here's what I'm working with:

Manufacturer HP-Pavilion
Processor AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+
Determined by lowest subscore
Memory (RAM) 1.87 GB
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430
Primary hard disk 139GB Free (365GB Total)
32-bit operating system

I use Adobe Master Suite CS3
-Premiere Pro
-haven't had the confidence to add anything from After Effects

Is there any possible way for me to get better results out of this thing??
What upgrades should I buy??
Is my first video any good if you disregard how ugly and delayed it is??

Just get a new PC. It'll make your life so much easier.

For the past few days, I've been doing my editing on a Sempron 150. (2.9 ghz, single core).

I'm not having the sorts of issues that you describe.

PEBCAK.
