Actually, they use to do that in the good old days at AX

I was talked out of it for this year. :P I could very much consider it for next year though, but with off-the-wall ideas like these it's hard to predict how receptive people would be to it. If we tried something new like that and people didn't respond to it with enough entries, it'd be an embarrassment.
I will happily cover any number of 15 second videos you need to feel comfortable about that as a category.

edit: Entirely unrelated question, is the show an online-ticketed event this year? Last year was very frustrating to find out the tickets were only available online weeks after they ran out.
Yeah, and imagine my ire when I walked out onto the stage and still saw a slew of empty seats. I could give a page-long rant on that BS. The lesson was learned though. Tickets will be obtainable at-con only, as they were done prior to last year. There's also plans being thought up regarding how/when to release no-show seats and let last-minute standby folks in.
Ahem...

I guess I should jump in and play nice too.

For some reason I've had people contact me with questions related to AX, I have however directed all of them back to this topic. I have high hopes for AX this year. I had a great time working with Troy, Vlad and the rest last year. I'm looking forward to it again this year and will do my best to meet/surpass your expectations.

Vlad and I have come to the decision that opening sequence vids shall be considered Bonus Genre entries.

This is because it's the only place they can go due to Rule 9 regarding minimum length (which is 1min 30sec, and most intros are shorter than that). We neglected to consider the effect Rule 9 would have on Intro vids, but this is easily fixed by giving them a home in the Bonus Genre.

The rules will be updated to reflect this change shortly.

That feeling when you go to submit your AMV and realize you need to tweak exactly one shot and that you don't know which computer the source project is on or whether that computer still works.

if I read the rules thoroughly, you should have received one within 3 days of submitting. :uhoh:

Yes, you do get a notification. No, I haven't sent them out yet.

I think you're confusing registration with submission. We send your registration code within two days of registering. We send AMV submission confirmations as we inspect them, which we generally do in batches. We're starting to get a sizable chunk of submissions so we'll be doing our first inspection batch soon.
