Thanks Castor Troy , Im glad you liked my AMV, I didn't go to the contest so I have no idea what reactions people had on my AMV but im happy you liked it, made my day

I really liked the After Effects editing and thought it would win tbh. After the show, I talked to a friend and he said people around him were talking about how the song was the same as a previous AX winner or something.

I wished i had after effects woulda made it easy on me Maybe the people were talking about seeing my amv in the previous amv contest. I remember someone emailed me saying they played my incomplete G6 amv back in 2011 preshow.

And congratulations on winning with the Toast amv, its amazing and well deserved and you don't know how badly i wanted to beat it(you), maybe next year :p

Good job you guys. I saw some amazing AMVs at this con and as a whole this show felt a lot stronger than last year....

I find it hard to believe based on the creators I knew that were there that Stew managed to get half the creator votes. There must be large amount of others there that aren't part of the already somewhat big group I knew was there. Especially based on some of the reactions I'm seeing about Stew in this thread.

There are a lot of editors that aren't on the org that enter contests. Also, the creator vote is a lot smaller so it's easier to have it spread out among the entire finalist pool. The majority vote could, in theory, be 2 votes. Same could be said for the Judging vote as well (however, I think that might be handled a little differently based on how we rank each video).

I actually remember bringing this up with Kireblue for Momocon which has a creator choice. The creators pick their top 3 videos and then after that everyone votes for one from the average top 3 that everyone picked, but initially we were just going to have everyone pick a single video. AB does a similar thing as well. Something I think that would be nice to see implemented next year, as it prevents the possible issue you mentioned with a video winning, but only receiving two votes. Just a suggestion.

What happens if the Judges, Creators AND Audience all have a different opinion?

Didn't something like that happen a couple years ago? When all the editors got pulled aside at the awards to decide between Naruto Ball Shippuden and Nice Guys

I actually came up with the system we use at AB - I'll mention it to troy if he wants to know.

(Seriously considering coming out next year to work the room too btw)
