Masking
I would like to discuss a certain aspect of AMV editing commonly present in our nightmares:
Whenever I use masking in my AMVs, I usually prefer to redraw the mask for each individual frame instead of adjusting the anchors. Masking is essential for certain transitions and whatnot, but sometimes it can become quite tedious. Is there another way to mask, i.e. magnetic selection in Photoshop or Vegas plugins? What do you guys do for your masking, and how much time do you usually spend on it per video? Thanks in advance for replies.

Now that rotobrush is a thing, it's become my go-to tool.

Re: Masking
I have to check out this rotobrush thing. At the Moment I also Re-draw the mask for each Frame in AE. I usually split the clip for each frame I wanna mask with Ctrl + Shift + D. And then it depends on the complexity of the Mask it takes me about 30 secs - 3 mins for a mask.

Re: Masking
I never had luck with the rotobrush when it comes to anime.
However, on real life and CG footage, it's a godsend.
