My judges threw some curve balls my way this year and a lot of my score totals were very close. Thanks to everyone for participating and giving us such an outrageous number of entries that we've had to change the schedule around to accommodate the overflow. I might even be playing some of the not-quite finalists in our pre-show this year.

It's that time of year again! Here are the rules for AAC's 2014 AMV Contest.

Notable differences from years past include:

* A Theme Award as opposed to a Theme category: Our con themes were becoming a bit difficult to drum up videos for, so last year we dropped the category entirely. This year, since we realized we do appreciate the theme entries, we have revisited the idea of theme videos and have decided to award a special judges prize to the video found to be most in line with our 2014 con theme - Winter Wonderland. These will be normal entries that will compete in their own category the same as any other video.

* 7 minute time limit: This isn't really too much of an issue, but I was asked to reassesses the time limit a while back and just now got around to it.

* New Best in Show determination method: this is more for full disclosure than anything else. I'm trying something different and there will be lots of math involved.

* Deadline is October 3rd

For anyone in attendance, We are again running the Fan-Works Theater as a dedicated fan video programming track. I've opened the door for people interested in participating in Extreme Iron Editor, Hentai Iron Editor, etc. Just contact me via PM or email amvcontest@anotheranimecon.com if you are interested in these events or have proposals for other events - I can't say anything will get onto the schedule, but we will at least give it consideration.

As long as they don't break any rule, I don't see why not. They count as an entry for everyone involved and any prizes should they win would go to the single person submitting it.
