Not sure what else to ad to my amv (WIP/1:1)?

As you can see my video is Fullmetal Alchemist (Ed x Winry). I am pretty new to making amv's so if it sucks that is why. I need some advice, I have the clips placed where I want them (of course nothing is final) but I'm not sure what else to do to the video. Basically, half the video is using Brotherhood and half the video is using the original. What I am trying to do is capture the sadness of Edward and Winry's relationship in the 2003 anime. I want it to be sad but right now it just looks plain/boring. What other things can do to it? Add a texture? Add some text? Moving overlay? I just don't know what else to add... It feels dull.

Also if anyone gives me some feedback, I'll happily do the same for one of you videos! Also the quality is going to be bad. When I upload the final version it will be miles better. It just seemed kind of silly to spend three hours rendering a WIP. Anyway, thanks in advance to anyone who responds!

I see what you mean. The song itself doesn't change too much in the pacing that's the problem. You have the emotion of Ed and Winry down. However if you have them singing to each other in the video at some points while they are sitting together instead of lipflap, it may work a little better. The video doesn't really call for special effects. I think maybe some mask layers while Winry is looking sad with Ed in the background walking away may work and vice versa.

I say it is a good video so far. I like the story and mood of it. It does lack like you said, I agree with you there, but this song can be difficult because it doesn't give you much to work with.

I was wondering if you could take a look at this video below and leave an opinion on it. When you get your video close to being finished let me know and I'll beta it for you again if you like.

Sorry it took me forever to respond. Thanks for looking at my video. I'll try having them sing to each other (I'm not too good at this) but I'll definitely try using some mask layers. Also, I looked at your video and I really liked it! I'm not going to lie, I'm not crazy about having the characters sing to each other but I really liked how you edited it. It looked very natural.

I haven't seen Slayers but I was able to understand the feelings the two characters feel towards each other (as well as their relationship). I'm probably going to watch it a couple more times and see if there is anything else I should mention but to be honest, it looks amazing. The quality is good, you have the emotions of the characters down, the songs fits with what its going on and it's just very good. I can tell you worked hard on it. Thanks again for looking at my video! I'll post it again when it's near completion.
