Welcome to AWESOMECORE!
That's “TRASH” for you Russians.
But you may be asking yourself, “What is AWESOMECORE?”
That's actually a tricky question because AWESOMECORE is typified by it's uniqueness, it's fearlessness when breaking rules and conventions, and it's drive to do things that haven't been done before. And also by not taking itself too seriously.
I have Identified three main types of AWESOMECORE, different is so many ways, but the connecting factor is the outside-the-box ways of doing things.
Number ONE
The natural AWESOMECORE
This one is the rarest and also one of the most special.
They edit outside of the box because they have no idea what the box is.
They have yet to be told the “rules” of making an AMV and are thus to freely make anything without constraints. This is very related to 'outsider art'

Number TWO
The experimental AWESOMECORE
This AWESOMECORE just likes to play outside the box to see what's out there. Maybe it knows the rules, but is determined to do something different because it finds them boring.
Number THREE
Dadaist AWESOMECORE
This AWESOMECORE has had it up to here with your “rules”! You can't tell it what to do, you're not it's dad! Thus these videos are an attack, a pure assault on the popular conventions and techniques in AMV making.

Well as this is the first year, I wanted to keep things simple.
3 Categories
10 sign-up slots each
1 month to make a video
Badda Bing Badda boom we are done.
We have 3 categories and an Ultra Greatest Prize pack up for grabs!
The first category is romance.
Remember, this is about breaking rules, breaking conventions, making new interesting things.
For example:
This video made a romantic story between two text characters, all using the end credits of 5cm per second as footage. Amazing.
This video is a representation of a romantic relationship through the eyes of a computer.
It also uses harsh Japanese noise music.
The second category is action:
Temnoe Vremia Dnya
This video is a action video that uses action songs to action scenes. “What the hell Fall_Child42! That's not different at all!” you must be violently screaming at your monitor at this very moment. But that's because you havn't watched it yet. The way it does ... well everything ... is entirely different from what you normally see.
This video managed to make a pretty cool action video using the most unlikely and restrictive of sources. The Movie sequences from pocket monsters and pokemon yellow. AWESOMECORE action for things like this tend to use alot of cleverly repeated footage to keep the video flowing and going.
The third category is soup.
AWESOMECORE is about freedom. The freedom from restraints so you can do what you want. If you have the absolute craziest idea in your head then this category is for you. Go wild! No, no limits just reach for the sky!

Every contestant will have from When they Sign up to November 30th to finish a video.
Early sign ups get a bonus!
You will upload the video somewhere and provide me a link.
I will use the time and date on the link to determine what made it on time.
There will be a winner for each category as well as a best (worst?) in show.
Our team of judges include:

Ileia
Otohiko (though I'm not sure he knows this yet)
There will be a small prize pack for each category, and one grand prize winner.
Each prize pack will include a drawing of your favourite character (Anime or otherwise),
A card with a hand written message from me
A yet to be determined Music CD
Probably some candy
and a bunch of other random stuff I haven't picked out yet.
The Grand Prize Pack will include more of the above, as well as a hand crafted one of a kind AWESOMECORE trophy to display proudly on your mantle, dashboard, or in your trashcan.
This competition allows you to forget about structure and have a TON of fun. I don't want you to worry about following all those rules people have told you about making videos. I want you to be creative, do whatever stupid Idea comes to you and most of all have a great time!

First of all I want to say thank you to all who participated. There are some amazing videos here and I had a huge grin on my face watching every one of them. (That rarely happens in AMV contests. The reason judging took so long is we had a very hard time picking the winners, some were very close.
Also I received many messages from the contestants saying they had a ton of fun. That is something I love to hear because that was largely the point of this contest, being free to have fun and go wild making something crazy!

In the Romance category:
DELUSION by MATURBO!
A beautiful, video. Exciting visually. Something very off kilter about the video, portraying romance as empty a very cool take on the typical romance videos one normally sees.
In The Action Category:
FOOTBALL SEASON by ZEPHYRSTAR!
This took the oft used footage of Attack on Titan and did something truly unique with it.
Combined with the expert timing of the silent commentators, the screwed up 3d text and the live action footage, alot of work went into making this a fantastic horrible example of a monday night during football season in America
In the Soup Category:
All of you people really ran with this category. And had a blast this was by far the hardest choice of all. So all congrats goes to Vlad for his video DUET UNDER THE PURPLE SKY The technical work and clashing visuals made a great awesomecore comedy. Plus the way you cut out Kirk was masterful.
BEST IN SHOW!
SSGWNBTD you Brilliant brilliant man.
This over ten minute long video never lingers, I have watched it several times, and even though it was a simple idea "too many cooks" Extra effort was put into it to synch, to tell a sub story, and make thew whole video cohesive. way to go SSG. "
