I think at this point most of the Internet is conceiving and consuming AMVs like they're just content to post on Tumblr and nothing more.

Yeah...AMV's are being posted on various sites and technology has become easier to use. Also soruce footage is easier to come by if your not "owning" the DVD's or Blue-Rays. Still there are a lot of videos and more editors now. However I do agree with Shui finding new "quality" AMV's are harder now. Then again there are so many places to look and not everything is posted on here.

It's obv all the parody AMV's...Everyone watches those...If only people made more dramatic, sad romantic things, AMV's wouldn't be abused like that ;-;

But yeah, it's both good and bad publicity...Bad because, well, it's the internet ;-;

You see, back in my day, before you kids could easily will amvs into existence with your minds, we had to rip dvds to get footage AND come up with actual concepts! You know, the ones you have to actually think about.

If you want to go for the quality snob response you could have said you used laserdiscs :awesome:

/me says as he looks at his LD collection, his 2 LD Decks, 2 VHS Decks, and portable CD player all setup to do some old school editing...
