Before you get the contest details I wanted to draw special attention to the awards this year!

The MTAC 2015 AMV Contests…
This year we will have the main MTAC AMV Contest and a separate Anime AMV Contest Circuit. We are adding freshness rules and award limits to the main contest, but we still want to recognize the best AMVs out there so we are going to have the 2nd contest accomplish this. The Anime Con Circuit AMV Contest is designed to showcase the top 10 / best of the best from all the cons that don’t meet the new rules in the main contest.
What can I enter?
An edited video production work featuring your choice of audio (mainly music) and any Japanese-originated anime video sources.
How many AMVs can I enter?
Main Contest - 7 total (one per category)
AMV Contest Circuit - 2 entries per person (10 Finalists)
AMV Entry Mandatory Requirements
(Please note: Your AMV will be disqualified if you do not follow these rules, so read carefully)
No Bumpers, title screens, credits, or any other form of identification.
No translation subtitles allowed on footage, unless created by you for the purposes of the video.
No network or studio logos present on the video footage.
Max runtime of 6 minutes and minimum of 80 seconds.
Content must be TV-14 (profanity, excessive violence / gore and sexual situations are not acceptable)
MAIN CONTEST AMV Requirements
Videos can not have premiered at a convention before September 1st 2014.
Videos for the Main Contest can not have won Best In Show and/or Best in Category awards at 6 or more separate conventions prior to submitting to MTAC -- see below.
Hell Style will not be accepted in the main contest.
AMV CONTEST CIRCUIT Requirements
Videos can not have premiered at a convention before April 1st 2014.
There is no limit to the number of awards previously won.
Hell Style will be accepted
Animated Works will be accepted (Excluding MLP. and Spongebob)
Japanese-related Live Action content will be accepted (including cosplay)
Video Quality:
All videos are required to be in at least a resolution of 480p or HD formats 720p / 1080p (preferred) and a frame rate of 23.976 (preferred) or 29.976. The video footage on qualifying entries must not have:
Severe interlacing or scan lines on the video footage;
Unintended severe noise, grain, or various “artifacts” on the video footage; or macroblocking.
Audio Quality:
The audio must be rendered at a sampling rate no lower than 44,100 Hz (48,000 Hz preferred), and must be clean and undistorted.

*Awards will only be shipped to the US and Canada. If you live in another country you can contribute to shipping if you want your award.
Submission Conditions
- By submitting your video to this contest you authorize MTAC staff to screen and distribute it under the MTAC AMV contest title.
- MTAC staff reserves the right to disqualify entries for any reason deemed necessary to protect the overall quality and integrity of the event. Entries may be disqualified for failure to adhere to the rules stated in this document, as well as for any fair and justifiable reason not foreseen in these rules. If you are unsure if your video would be disqualified due to the above rule e-mail the contest coordinator and we can view the content of your video and make a decision.
- All decisions made by the coordinator are final.
Submit / When can I enter?
Video submissions will be accepted from now until the deadline March 14th, 2015 at
To set up an account and send in your video entry:
- Go to http://contests.ngsilver.com
- Click on the "NGSilver's AMV Contest Database" picture link.
- Either click "Sign Up" to create a new account, or log in if you already have an account with the archive
- Click "Enter New Video" on the left side and then "MTAC 15"
- Fill out the video entry form
- Once you have all of your video entries in the system, click "View Entry Status".
- When the FTP account is ready, you should see the FTP information displayed below each video's entry information.
- Once the FTP information is available, you may upload your video to the contest server. If you need software for FTP uploading, we recommend you use FileZilla Client ( https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client ).
- Once the files are uploaded to the server, in the Contest Database's "View Entry Status" section, click the "Close FTP Account" button below the video entry to confirm the video has been uploaded.
- Confirmation on the video's status in the contest will be provided in a separate e-mail from the contest coordinator.
