Duplicate entry into the Database..

YES... it is a lot of DQs.. lots of quality issues and people not reading the rules. We tried our best to work with everyone for those that could be fixed, but in the end we had to ensure we were fair and equal to all entries in regards to the rules.

The Withdraws were replacements for videos that got DQed so technically there were a bit more in that respect... My suggestion (and I sure I'm not alone), please read all the rules and ensure your entry meets all the requirements, and please ask questions if not sure about something.. It always makes me sad to have to write a DQ e-mail :(

And that was us being lenient.

Many mistakes could have been averted had some people simply read the rules. We tried to steer people on the right path where possible, but we were boggled by the number of simple and blatant no-nos such as inextricable intros, wall-to-wall show dialogue, and even personal watermarks (because the problem of coordinators mass distributing AMVs without attribution is such a prolific one lately, right?).

Anyway, a grand show will definitely be had this year. Of that there can be no doubt. I can't remember the last time I've seen the categories this intense, especially you-know-which. There will be no easy wins.

So lenient. Merciful, even. We didn't dispatch the AMV Secret Police to anyone's house this year. Not that they're a real thing. If you see a black van with Alberta plates parked across the street, it's probably nothing to worry about. Also, contrary to popular belief, we totally accept YouTube links. :awesome:

Seriously though, it's looking like a great contest.

The judging phase is still in progress. The earliest would be 2nd week of March.

Y'know that feel when you kinda stir to half-wakefulness just moments before the alarm is about to go off?

It's that moment right now. :P
