Hi everyone! This post is to let you know that we are open for entries for the AnimeNEXT 2015 Animé Music Video (AMV) Contest. Being the largest independently-run anime convention in the New Jersey/New York metro area (almost 12,000 attendees in 2014), AnimeNEXT is returning to the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset, NJ, for the weekend of June 12-14, 2015.
Contest Rules -- Entry Form
Please be sure to read the rules in their entirety, as they have changed since 2014. In particular, the technical specifications have been overhauled again due to changing our playback hardware.
Please also make sure that your e-mail is set up to allow messages from amv@animenext.org without sending them to junk, to make sure that you receive the entry confirmation e-mail and any others.
Entries must be completely received by the end of MAY 2. The form will stop accepting entries at midnight Eastern time -- no extensions will be forthcoming!
Also, we are NOT accepting entries by post anymore this year. We were not receiving enough for it to be worth it.
Notable improvements from last year include:
- Our new playback hardware outputs at 720p and can support videos up to 1080p!
- New upload form = no more waiting for me to set up FTP accounts!!!
- We will ship certificates and prizes to the winners (even internationally) if they cannot make it to the show.
- Medals for the winners, like last year.
- All valid entries received on time (unless disqualified) WILL be shown at the convention, even if they do not make finals.
- No maximum video length. Bring on the prog rock, classical, whatever!
- The categories are not set in advance. If we have enough good videos in a genre, there will be an award for it. So send us your horror, your trailers, your upbeat, etc.!
