Shameless Savatage plug
I'd have to say Savatage is THE most powerful band I've ever heard. I don't run into many songs that move me outside of Broadway musicals. But when I heard "This Isn't What We Meant" (courtesy of VicBond's famous Eva AMV), I actually did want to cry. I found the album it was from ("Dead Winter Dead") at Best Buy fo $10 and actually bought it, something I haven't done in 5 years at the least. It's one of the few albums where I like every single song.
Another equally good album from them is "Streets: A Rock Opera." I dunno, Savatage just has one incredible sound. The first time I heard "Believe" from the aforementioned album, I did cry.
But anyway, that's my $.02
