Fate Series - Broken Ideal
Really enjoyed the Fate series so I thought I'd use it to try my hand at an action AMV. I'd love some feedback!

I THOUGHT THIS WAS GREAT and am totally shocked that this is your first action AMV (and looks like one of your only AMVs at all??) Your emotional throughline was really dead-on and I'm freaking impressed that you worked F/Z and FSN through to each other seamlessly. The editing was sharp all the way through and you just nailed it in the first half especially. My one major critique would be that you slammed in with such a strong opening that you didn't carry that momentum through; your cuts slow and the video loses its energy by midway because it can't keep up the pace that was set. Still solid, but I think it would have been pretty breathtaking to see it through to the end.
(I showed it to a bunch of my friends a few minutes ago as well and got commentary like "i am glad its only 3 days old because those views should be WAY HIGHER" so there you go.) I subscribed to you on YouTube and am hype to see any more videos you make!

Thanks, I really appreciate it! The pacing was a bit of a problem for me too, but I'll keep trying to improve the flow as I make more AMV's.allegoriest wrote:I THOUGHT THIS WAS GREAT and am totally shocked that this is your first action AMV (and looks like one of your only AMVs at all??) And this is only my third video (Shigatsu AMV is stuck in copyright hell so I had to upload it to Vimeo), so I'm learning as I go!

I feel that you could have used a little bit more internal and movement sync at a few parts in order to make your scenes flow into each other more, but your beat sync was on point! You really choose all the right notes to edit on I also feel that when you did those fast successions of scenes, it would have also helped if all of them maintained similar colors. There were cases where you had a a single orange scene in the middle of a montage of blue scenes and it stood out a bit. But really good job overall

I may eventually go back and fix some of the things you mentioned because they were annoying me too. Appreciate the feedback!kireblue wrote:I feel that you could have used a little bit more internal and movement sync at a few parts in order to make your scenes flow into each other more, but your beat sync was on point!
