Congratulations to all of our video winners! It was an amazing contest overall and we received a lot of positive feedback about it. I will get the medallions out soon.

Like last year, Tekko will have two showings of the AMV Contest this year: an "early bird" showing Friday, April 8th at 10:30AM in the AMV Theater and the main event on Saturday, April 9th at 12 Noon in Main Stage. Awards will be announced on Sunday, April 10th at 3PM.

btw, if you are an AMV creator and plan to attend Tekko 2016 this year, please let me know by PM. We not only would like the opportunity to say "hi", but we would also encourage you to sign up for the Creator Spotlight event taking place on Saturday at 2:30PM after the AMV Contest main showing. It is a good opportunity to introduce yourself to the Tekko AMV crowd and show off some of your works!

Edit 01-08-2016: Please note that we have a major rule change to our video source requirement: This year, we will accept all forms and origins of animation source, but please keep in mind when submitting your music video that Tekko is a Japanese pop culture convention.

Also, if you are planning to submit a video to Tekko, please also consider submitting your videos to the MTAC 16-Bit AMV Contest & Extreme AMV Contest. Both contests have virtually the same structure, which means you can use the same video entry information for both contests.

To be honest, I am not sure if the convention is generalizing the video game theme or restricting it to Japanese-origin video games (as Tekko is branded a "Japanese Pop Culture Convention"). It's a fair question, and I will ask the convention about it.

The Tekko convention website now has a button for "Submit Your AMV". Going forward, please use this button to provide us with your video information. If you want to enter more than one video, after submitting your first video's information you can click "Submit Another Response" to enter another video.

I taked with PittJCS, and we are going to change our video source rule:

– As this is an anime music video contest, the majority (approximately 51% or more) of your video must contain Japanese anime or Japanese video game-related media (that originated in Japan). This year, we will accept all forms and origins of animation source, but please keep in mind when submitting your music video that Tekko is a Japanese pop culture convention.

Please note that last bit, as PittJCS prefers non-Japanese videos submitted at least have manga or anime inspiration (like Avatar / Korra and RWBY). Having said that, this rule change means we will not reject AMVs solely on the basis that it uses animation sources outside of Japan.

So, if you like, you may send in your request for your LoL-sourced video for review.

Tekko's off to a great start, and we are still looking for more of everything! Don't forget that we are seeking more Video Game MVs as well, so that we can possibly make the Theme category finally happen this year!

Also, we are seeking entries for the Extreme AMV Contest, and we take (almost) anything for it. If it's too hot for the all-ages main contest, our Extreme Contest will give you a chance to showcase your videos to the (18+) AMV fans!

btw, did you see that we have an "Extreme AMV" contest? Extreme basically is any kind of video that we can't show during the Main Contest -- ranging from curse-heavy to hyper-violent-blood-everywhere to hentai. The Extreme Contest gives everyone who has that too-hot-for-the-convention video a chance to entertain our late-night 18+ audience and walk away with a prize! So, if you have that video that other conventions pass on, check our Extreme Contest rules and give our competition a try!
