It would be, as it is a MPEG-2 transport stream. We would prefer you put it into an AVI or MP4 container (using either VirtualDub or Zarx264GUI / FFMPEG) for compatibility, but if you wanted to submit it as an .m2ts, I would not reject the video based on that.kutiekittykandykorn wrote:Hello! I have another question but about the video format.
Would the video format .m2ts be acceptable for the contest?

Re: MTAC 16-Bit AMV Contest (and Extreme AMV Contest) - Deadline 03/05/16
A bit of good news for creators with entries that may fit the Video Game Theme: We will consider making an exception to our video sourcing rule if we receive fan-created music videos using video game source developed and/or produced outside of Japanese origin. So, if you have that WoW, Fallout, or Call of Duty VGMV, we wouldn't mind giving it a look -- if it falls within the other rules, of course.

Re: MTAC 16-Bit AMV Contest (and Extreme AMV Contest) - Deadline 03/05/16
A couple of updates:
- The first post has been modified with a link to MTAC's website, which now has all of the rules and the link to send a video to the contest!
- We are still looking for more Video Game MVs so that we can consider adding it as a Theme category this year!
- Our MTAC Extreme AMV Contest is off to a great start, but still needs more entries! If you have a video that we would normally be declined for content reasons in the main contests, our Extreme Contest might give that video a chance to be showcased to our 18+ guests and a chance to win something!
Please let me know if you have any questions about the contest.

The entry form says that you are required to select a primary category for your vid. So what do you do if you have a trailer? Are you unable to submit to the trailer category directly and only able to select it as a secondary category?

Re: MTAC 16-Bit AMV Contest (and Extreme AMV Contest) - Deadline 03/05/16
We made Trailers & Commercials secondary because it is not a basic category in itself, but more of a niche category. The primary should be what basic kind of trailer it is parodying or what movie/show it is portraying. For example, Melichan932's A Walk To Remember would be a Primary category of Romance/Sentimental with Trailer/Commercial as Secondary, while MeriC's Art School Confidential would be a Primary category of Comedy with Trailer/Commercial as Secondary.kireblue wrote:The entry form says that you are required to select a primary category for your vid. If you still need help in selecting a primary category for your trailer, would you please send me a link to it so I can review?

Re: MTAC 16-Bit AMV Contest (and Extreme AMV Contest) - Deadline 03/05/16
We're still looking for more videos, especially more Extreme contest entries. Right now, we are leaning towards Theme (Video Games) and Trailer/Commercial/Alternate Opening Parody as possible new categories, but we would like to see more of this type if you have them.
Keep those submissions coming, and if you have not received a response from me on your prior entries, please let me know.

Actually, they can. There are very few rule changes between the two contests and they are two different contest markets altogether -- MTAC is Tennessee while Tekko is Pennsylvania. We are encouraging anyone who submits to MTAC to also consider submitting their entries to Tekko 2016. All it would take is a PM here or e-mail to me at the MTAC address in the rules to get your entry copied over.TritioAFB wrote:Videos for this con cant be the same for Tekko, Glory?

Re: MTAC 16-Bit AMV Contest (and Extreme AMV Contest) - Deadline 03/05/16
Just over TWO WEEKS until the MTAC deadline!
btw, did you see that we have an "Extreme AMV" contest? Extreme basically is any kind of video that we can't show during the Main Contest -- ranging from curse-heavy to hyper-violent-blood-everywhere to hentai. The Extreme Contest gives everyone who has that too-hot-for-the-convention video a chance to entertain our late-night 18+ audience and walk away with a prize! So, if you have that video that other conventions pass on, check our Extreme Contest rules and give our competition a try!
We're still looking for other videos for the Main Contest. It's still largely an open field, so please consider sending your contest-worthy videos our way!
