How To Prevent People From Stealing Your AMVs?

Post by Lakito » Thu Aug 18, 2016 6:31 pm

Hey! I am new at making AMVs and before I start editing anything, I wanted to know if there is any way to prevent people from stealing your AMVs and claiming they did it. I don't want to use watermark. I've seen people cut off credits in the original video and paste their own name. What's the best way to deal with this?

Simple answer is, you can't. A lot of editors have tried different things, but there's no real way to stop anyone for doing that unless you simply never upload the videos at all. At the end of the day, they won't really gain anything from it in the long run, so I wouldn't sweat it too much.

Thanks for the answer. Let's say somebody uploaded an AMV of mine and won a place in a competition, what can I do about it?

Contact the people who run the competition. Most of us take plagiarism pretty damn seriously.

Thanks for the answer. I guess this will be enough for now.

Easy. Just make a really badly edited piece of garbage and no one will want it. :3

Duh. Ofc you can just make an amv revolving around your nickname masks nickaname texts fillimg whole screen nickname , transistions from nickname... everywhere. Problem solved. For exctra protection one can use real credentials and your mom's email
Still better than that MMO.

The best thing I can suggest is don't make bumpers or credit sequences. Instead work your credits into the video itself so they "can't" be cut out. Let this be the only version you release online. Save your creditless version for submissions.
