Shock Collar Negative Effect
I am planning to purchase a dog shock collar online to correct the barking, digging and chewing behavior of my 2-year old Beagle. I am honestly unsure about this product as I am afraid that my dog might get hurt or be traumatized. I have looked into is a little and there’s a mix of a good and bad result. I want to know your opinion about this type of product. Also, is there anything that I should keep in mind before purchasing one?

Re: Shock Collar Negative Effect
Honestly, these eventually fail. I once got bit by a dog whose shock collar for their "invisible fence" eventually failed (or that she built up an immunity to the shock pain), so from first-hand experience I know these are not useful. You should instead find a good dog trainer who can helo train the beagle in the right behaviors and to listen to you.
