How many episodes is Record of Lodoss War??

As already stated above

:
First series are 13 episodes.
Second series (Tales of the Heroic Knight) are 27 episodes.

And that is all I know, but what I know is for certain since I have the first series and I'm planning on buying the second series soon.

Does Tales of the Heroic Knight continue the series or is it a different story with the same characters?

As far as I've seen it's a little bit of both.

*SPOILERS*

Two characters - I forget their names - are introduced in the first series.
One is a redhead female and the other is a black-haired berserker male.
. They are both introduced again in the first episode of 'Tales of the Heroic Knight'. However.. Ashram is there and talks to Neese about a little of what happened in the first series.

*END OF SPOILERS*

Only drawback is that 'Tales of the Heroic Knight' costs 1790 crowns (around $180/$190) here. Which is way more then what I have to spend right now.

Silly me. It should be: "Chronicles of the Heroic Knight" of course..

Don't worry about that, Tales of the Heroic Knight isn't too far off since tales and chronicles means pretty much the same thing I think. I think the beserker guy's name was Orsan(sp?) or something like that, can't remember the girl thats with him though. Is there anyways of seeing Chronicles of the Heroic Knight on TV or something? I don't wanna spend that money on ANY anime, even if I like it a lot. Thats an insane amount of money they want for it.

And it might show on some US-channel, but I have no clue really.
