Post Your Rig/AMV Cribs 2k18 (Editing Setup Thread)
It's been long enough!
It's that time again where we encourage current editors post their editing setups. This can be very a very interesting and enjoyable look into the lives of your fellow editors.
Previous Threads:
AMV Cribs 2K3
AMV Cribs 2K3 (Revisited)
AMV Cribs 2K5
Workstation: Tidy or Messy (2006)
AMV Cribs 2K6 (Summer Edition)
Rigs 2k7-2k14
Rigs 2k15-2k17
Obviously, in many of the threads, there are often lots of broken image links. However, it's worth it for those that still work if you're willing to put in the time to go through the effort of clicking through the threads. There's some fine history here, especially for those of you who are recent and/or younger editors. And it just keeps adding every year.

Brings a tear to eye seeing all this beautiful old hardware. Funny fact in your 2008 photos, I have the exact Video8 camcorder and I still use it to this dayKionon wrote: Rigs 2k15-2k17

Wonderful.
I revived my MacBook White and my MacBook Black. I sold my 2012 MacBook Pro and I daily drive the 2008 MacBook White with Linux Mint themed to macOS. It's a great school/work laptop I can bang around and not worry about. The 2006 MacBook Black looks way better, but is a Core Duo, 32 Bit, can't compete. Cases are not compatible, or I would have swapped the logic boards.

I actually have a white Mid-2009 MB, that was my "reunion" Mac that I got a few years ago that brought me back to MacOS
Should reinstall the OS on there and put it to use again sense I replaced the SSD. Hard for me use it today with its resolution and TFT panel

Yeah the TFT TN panel is the worst part of it. I couldn't likely edit on it, but as a mobile device for browsing and office task, or even connecting to an old projector I have that's VGA to put AMVs or TV shows on the wall, it works great. I took a professional development course this summer and used the MBW for five weeks, no access to any other computer.
I wish I had a 2008 MBB though. The plastic quality and keyboard feel is significantly better, and it still looks like a modern business laptop today. Unfortunately, it can't run slack or discord or mailspring or half a dozen other 64bit-only apps. So it doesn't really get used.

The stool is for my cat so he'd stop clawing my legs when he wanted attention. I tried to get him to stay on the stool for you guys but he jumped off as soon as I backed up to take the pic.
And then this is my DVD collection. 220+ cases now.
But to be fair it's mostly not anime.
And [url=https://pcpartpicker.com/user/fravbox/saved/Wrv6XL]this[/ur;] is my build on PC Part Picker, minus various accessories which I've mostly just re-claimed from people who didn't want them anymore.
But for people who don't want to click links:
- Adobe CS6
- AMD Ryzen 7 1700 8 core 3GHz
- 32GB RAM
- Windows 7 x64

Re: Post Your Rig/AMV Cribs 2k18 (Editing Setup Thread)
-- Mac Pro 3,1 (Early 2008)
* 2 x Quad-Core 2.8Ghz Intel Xeons (upgradeable)
* 16GB of RAM (I had 18, but two of the 1GB sticks seemed to be giving me issues, expandable to 64GB)
* 250GB Samsung Evo 860 SSD Boot Drive (MacOS Mojave 10.14)
* 2 x 250GB Samsung Evo 850 RAID 0 Boot Drives (MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6)
* 2 x 1TB HDDs (Samsung and Western Digital Green) for storing source, projects, and media files.
* MSI NVIDIA GTX 660 (MacOS Mojave)
* Gigabyte NVIDIA GTX 950 (MacOS High Sierra, no web drivers yet for Mojave)
* NVIDIA GT 710 (always works, native driver support)
* Pioneer Blu-ray ReWritable Drive
...Yes, this is almost an 11 year old Mac Pro that is still running the latest operating system, can handle modern video cards (I could be running a 10XX or a 20XX on High Sierra if I wanted to) and still has upgrades available. But I'd probably go with 4,1 or 5,1 instead of spending that kind of money to change a 3,1. Or I'd go Hackintosh. We're getting to the point of diminishing returns with upgrading the 3,1.
-- MacBook Pro 11,5 (Mid-2015) (Shipped all the way from Australia, because it was actually a lot cheaper)
* Quad-Core 2.5Ghz Intel i7
* 16 GB (soldered, eww) RAM
* 1TB PCIe SSD
* Intel Iris Pro 5200/AMD Radeon R9 M370X
The MacBook White and Black are unlikely to get much use beyond visitors or some rough and tumble use I won't want to risk the MacBook Pro for. The White is still perfectly capable of things like presentations, external video, and what-not. Sadly, it's not going to last much longer, the polycarbonate plastic was always a really poor quality and Apple rightly took a lot of flack for it. It's honestly amazing it's managed to last this long. I do have a spare bottom case to replace the cracking one, but I'm not looking forward to the required work to do the transplant. And by the time it would be necessary, other components may be dying and unable to be replaced anyhow. The MacBook Black isn't even a 64bit processor, and it's single core. Even with Linux it's rapidly passing out of any type of modern usability. It's essentially becoming a curio, a history piece, and nothing much else.
--Peripherals
* Bose Companion 2 Series II speakers
* Apple Keyboard, wired (JIS)
* Apple Keyboard, bluetooth (US)
* Apple Magic Mouse (replaceable, rechargable batteries)
* Sanwa Supply Optical Mouse, usb wireless
I still haven't purchased new headphones, it's on the list, but i haven't found a pair I like yet. I have AKG earbuds.
--Networking/Storage
* 1st Gen Apple Time Capsule 3TB (backups, backups, backups)
--Phones
iPhone 4 (glorified iPod, emergency phone)
iPhone 6S (world phone, use it in the States)
Samsung Galaxy S8+ (normal Japanese phone)

"Kio lives in Japan" is actually a pretty old meme on the Org, so that's hardly surprising.
