Announcement & discussion of Anime Music Video contests
Forum rules
Coordinators who fail to maintain necessary communication with entrants, or provide timely updates on results may be barred from announcing future events.
Celebrating the heroes of fan-made tributes, we invite you all to join us as Anime Los Angeles returns for our 15th year!
Anime Music Videos, or AMVs, are short fan-made music videos that pay homage to many of our favorite shows. Whether you are a renowned award winning talent or just starting out with your first ever project, our event welcomes creators of all skills and experiences. With some persistence, a desire to create, and admittedly a bit of luck, you just might see your work compete on the main stage!
Of course, if you prefer to sit back and enjoy an evening of awesome videos, we have you covered too! Our judges spend many weeks collectively deciding the best of the many submissions we receive in order to present to you a night of unique, one-of-a-kind entertainment that can only be seen at ALA! Best of all, YOU the audience get to decide the winners of each of the main categories, as well as the coveted Audience Choice award granted only to the best of the best.
Please be sure to review all of the rules below before submitting your videos, and send any questions you have to amv@animelosangeles.org. We can't wait to see what creations you'll serve up this year. Good luck!

Once again, thank you so much for being a part of this event. I hope to continue to see more works by you for years to come.
Thank you so much to everyone who has entered so far. I know the rules were announced much later than they should have been, and there has not been a lot of time to get submissions ready. Please accept my deepest apologies. Personal issues in my life took me away from my responsibilities to all of you. I don’t say that to excuse this behavior, but it is the truth, and I try to opt for transparency wherever possible.
I look forward to all the amazing entries still to come. Good luck, everyone!
I just submitted but I have a question. My brother wants me to submit my "Time to Rise" amv but I think it might be too graphic for the contest. I just want to double check please and thank you!

If they showed my "Hell of a Feeling" video last year, I think you're fine, haha. BUT! It's still always nice to ask. Just in case.

Is that your Fate video that's up on your YouTube? I'd say that's fine. It doesn't cross any issues as far as I'm concerned.
Are there any limits to how big a file size can be?
I am trying out different mp4 converting methods. When I run my video through the highest quality of Zarx, I get some blockiness on the darker scenes. It's around 146mb so the size is not the problem there. However, when I run it through another program I have, there is no blockiness at all...however, the size is around 0.98gb, so I am unsure which version to send. Thanks.
