Acceptable practices?
I'm new to the whole AMV scene and I had a question about acceptable practices. My current question is about add on packages that you can download and use editing software. Is that something that's acceptable in the AMV Community or is it something that's frowned upon? I'm just not sure if all the editing content should be made by the artist or if it's all right to use add-ons for editing.

Using plugins and other sources is absolutely fine. If you're using premade transitions/effects/presets made by other people be sure to contact them first so no bad things happen, other than that it's completely fine to use plugins to your program!

Re: Acceptable practices?
I think the biggest unacceptable practice on the Org is piracy. Piracy of anime source, piracy of music source, piracy of video editing software, and piracy of plug-ins. We draw a huge ethical distinction between using resources you paid for to produce derivative FAIR USE works and producing said works with PIRATED resources.Dude Jumping wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 7:33 pmI'm new to the whole AMV scene and I had a question about acceptable practices. I speak only of the Org's traditional view, because across the AMV community, there is a much less... adherence to this ethical standard.
So as long as you paid for those plug-ins or are using them with the blessing of the developer, in software you paid for, using footage and music you paid for, then you're good to go.
