I don't know what to say besides this is terrible, obviously. Beyond measure.

And that Internet comments about lack of a sprinkler system (100% unconfirmed and also written with zero knowledge of Japan's laws regarding such things) and security (most small office buildings in the world don't have armed guards in them like people are imagining) serves to smugly place the blame on the victims for their own deaths.

I don't predict anyone coming in here to make such a comment, it's just a frustration with Internet culture I needed to get off my chest.

I really hope that the studio can recover from this. It would be such a shame if Kyoto Animation were to end from this

I've visited the studio and I have many friends in the industry who almost certainly have had friends and colleagues perish in this horrific attack. I spent much of yesterday numb, then angry, and now tired and sad.

I hate this so much! Nobody deserves this! I can't even imagine how the survivors and their loved ones are feeling right now. I'm baffled at what the motive could've been, but hope there's an afterlife where the suspect can burn for eternity!

The motive appears to be that the arsonist believed KyoAni had stolen his intellectual property.
