2020. The 20TH Anniversary of FLCL and the start of the new decade. Finally after 8 months I made an AMV! (it was actually done more like three months ago) But sadly, SakuraCon and Anime Boston were cancelled. So they didn't get to premiere there and i still haven't made my comeback!

I've switched my style once again, straying away from "sad soppy drama" AMV's and doing a complete 180 with PLUS-ULTRA-HYPER-ACTION videos and this was a BLAST TO MAKE. FLCL is one of my favourite shows now and i'm super glad i was able to finish this.

But for now. I am sooOOo done with this show. My life has been consumed by it the past four months so time to move on to another series. One that'll... Steal your heart? and make you dance in the starlight? www.

As always, criticism on the AMV is always welcome.

(the spoiler has an extra surprise so clICK)
Spoiler :
You know that saying the trailer is usually better than the movie? Welll. I'm not saying that's the case but the trailer for the AMV is pretty sick too

AAAAHHHH this is so well made! The anime/song choice brought me back to my high school days. I don't usually like it when editors shorten the song but the way you did it really let the whole amv flow so nicely! instant fav 10/10

This is the best thing you've ever done and it surprised me in so many ways.

I normally don't care for lyric videos. The one had some of the most stylish-looking text I've ever seen and you made some ridiculously creative choices in how you approached it. A lot of great internal sync in this and great scene selection.

Just a beautiful and fun video from start to finish, one of the best of this year so far.

Maybe it's a little bit offtop, but I've just watched your Madeon's "Adventure" AMV series, and this is so good, I'm a huge fan of Madeon and didn't think that "Isometric" AMVs exist :).
That video is cool either, I really liked those tricks with text editing. Keep it up!

I really, really wanted to like this, but a lot of the editing choices just didn't vibe with my tastes. I thought the text was integrated decently most of the time, but also would have preferred the video without it, or used in a more consistent way (for example, the song has quotes from characters in the song's story, so restricting text to those moments). Some of the effects work was also a bit much, although this is more a reflection of my own tastes, because from a technical standpoint it looked great. I just felt like there was a bit too much motion and camera shake and things of that nature -- it was all too kinetic for me.

That said, I think the concept and anime/song combo was good, and I loved the text in the intro, kinda setting up the story, so to speak. Overall it wasn't bad or anything, just a bit too far outside of my own preferences.
