Two new AMVs (Tatami Galaxy, Gankutsuou)
Hi, i'm new here and just wanted to share my first two AMVs. I just recently got the hands on it and try to kinda catch the mood to a given anime and produce the music to it. But i'm here for the Videos and wanted to have some thoughts. The editing is very basic with only cuts so far and i know there is a lot to improve, but maybe someone might like it.

Re: Two new AMVs (Tatami Galaxy, Gankutsuou)
Wow, ok your first video - Earth Club Zero. I love this a lot. It's unlike any Gankutsuou AMV I have ever seen. I love that you've focused on the atmosphere/settings of the scenes rather than the drama between the characters. You've also used a ton of scenes I've never seen utilised in AMV's before and that's really refreshing.
Your editing keeps pace with the music really nicely, and you've also done some lovely internal sync in a lot of scenes. Overall this has a real dreamlike/otherworldly quality which just sucks you in. Awesome job nailing the mood on this one.
I feel I don't really "get" Red & Blue. Imma come back and watch it some other time when I can form a better opinion and let you know.

Thank you so much for the feedback! I try a lot to figure out how to get out the mood perfectly, good to hear it works out. Haven't seen that many AMVs of Gankutsuou so far, but i love to hear it has its own style, i will work on that in my future projects
Red & Blue is a little different and i think it only appeals in a certain mood, its also way simpler and my very first edit.

I agree with Katranat on pretty much everything said -- the Gankusuou video is awesome and you nailed the atmosphere. The syncing was just tight enough to keep things together and the mood in this video is tangible. I dig this one a lot.
The Tatami Galaxy video, on the other hand, felt really disjointed to me. The editing felt a bit sloppier and didn't follow the music as closely as I'd have liked, but more than that I just wasn't feeling the mood of this one. It all felt really directionless to me, the scene selection was just kind of all over the place, and I couldn't get into it.
Still, I look forward to future stuff from you!

Both of these videos were quite enjoyable and kudos for these being your first two! I really enjoyed the music selection in both. I haven’t seen either of these anime so I’ll def put them on my list.
To agree with CrackTheSky and Katranat, the Gankusuou video was a great mix of interesting visual elements and some wonderful moments of internal sycning

Lol accidentally posted while I tried to figure out how to spell synching, but I disagree with both of the other members bc I enjoyed the Tatami Galaxy video more than the Gankusuou one. Partially bc of the music choice but I think the rhythm you achieved here was more engaging for me personally.yearzero wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 4:23 pmBoth of these videos were quite enjoyable and kudos for these being your first two!
