Actually, I'm kind of hoping we'll get to see this mysterious Best in Show winner. I need to see with my own eyes why Quarantine Dreams didn't take it.

Holy moly there's a lot going on here. As someone who's participated a lot in this contest in the past here's a list that will hopefully answers a lot of questions:

• Videos submitted can & are often moved to different categories.
• While this is the first year I'm aware of that categories were removed, Vic is focused on presenting the best possible show for the audience, which in turn is good for keeping the contest going and thus is good for the editors.
• If your video was not in finals, it was not because the category you submitted to was removed, nor was it because you got bumped out of your submission category because something got moved to it. It sucks not to make finals, but just accept it.
• Confused that Upbeat was removed instead of Comedy? I can't speak for Vic, but unfortunately in general Comedy being in a contest brings in and keeps butts in seats. Removing Comedy or even moving it from being at the end results in a lot of walk-outs for contests in general, that's just how it goes, deal with it.
• There has rarely been "official posts" about the Otakon winners, attendees often post the results way before Vic can so if he doesn't wish to waste his time repeating what's already known that's perfectly fine, winners will get their trophy in due time, that should be "official" enough.
• Want to see a video that was not posted online? Tough, should have gone to Otakon.

That's not normal practice, no. The contest happened in person, there's no reason for them to publish it. Also out of respect for the creator.

Even I have AMVs from contests I've run that we're never published and I'm not even comfortable passing them along to other people without permission.
