Okay, sorry to drag this back up again, but I thought about it, and something bothers me. Where are people getting this strange sense of entitlement about DDR, why the sense that it's an "establishment" or "society"? It's a project some people put together. That's it. Then it got popular, and suddenly everyone else started demanding to be a part of it. AMV creators who are on DDR aren't chosen because they're special -- nor does the fact that they are chosen MAKE them special. We have 10-year veterans on the DDR2 roster, and we have n00bs.

I hear about people who are making crazy dance/DDR videos so they can impress us and get recruited. That's ridiculous. How are we any better than you that you have the "impress" us? We're creators just like you. Except for the people who were in on it from the ground up, a lot of the creators got tracks incidentally or through luck. I don't know what else to tell you.

Well why bother with fringe people then? Why not go for the jugular? The "secret" circle is really not very secret. Nor are they unreasonable. Maybe if you simply asked them before posting your public outrage and disgruntlement.

Maybe it wasn't very well-publicized, but the DDR project isn't some closely-kept secret either...
