Colin Langdon is handling AMVs for Zenkaikon 2022.

They have NOT been canceled.

It's with regret that I must inform you that there will be no AMV programming for Zenkaikon this year due to unexpected circumstances.
Without going into detail, our former DH dissolved the department before relinquishing her position.
Hopefully, AMV will be back next year so stay tuned.
I personally apologize for any disappointment this has caused.

The deadline is Sunday of this week and there aren't enough qualifying entries to support the competition this year.

I get that, which is why the deadline was extended, but like you won't know for sure until after the new deadline right? It sounds like you're trying to make sure that remains true...

As of now, we have a total of 18 entries, qualified or not.
We need 30 qualifying entries to fill six categories.
The personnel required to run the show are also not present.
At this rate, it won't happen.

Not gonna lie, I feel you would receive more entries if there was a google forms or something. Submitting separate.txt forms for separate videos was honestly a pain for me and it was too much unnecessary work. Having google forms for this would make things a lot easier.

We can only tell the webmaster that the submission window is open and let them do their job.
Unfortunately, the online submission form we had the previous three years never went live on the web site, nor did the rules or announcement that the Showdown was open.
We lost an untold number of entries as a result.
