AMV remasters
I've come across a handful of these AMV remasters that obscure editors have done to very little fanfare. I don't have much to say about these, but I want to share them/keep track of them somewhere cause I think it's neat that they've done this and it's worth noting.
To be specific, these are cases where the AMV's have been remade with higher quality footage. These are not cases where the original AMV has been upscaled/enchanced.

You might enjoy this thread.
This is not my way of telling you that you shouldn't have created this thread. It would be nice to be able to re-engage in old discussions here (part of the central appeal of message boards, or so I thought) but that's always been considered a bad thing for some reason so definitely do create threads whenever you want!

Re: AMV remasters
Sounds like a labor of love on old videos those editors wanted to see with better graphics. That takes a lot of time and still they have a high chance some of that charm in the original will disappear since you can't help making adjustments here and there. Or things are a little off. I finished remastering almost All of my old vids using large Huffy files I've kept on my computer for decades and even though they came out well enough I made some adjustments here and there for picture quality. Also creating thumbnails for my vids was pretty fun, remastering all those old vids kinda got me back into editing so remastering an old video is a good warm up.
Youtube isn't really known to have great playback with older videos anyway. Just came across a old HypeOdermic Studios AMV and noticed the quality on youtube was horrible but the one I had on my computer was really nice. I'm pretty sure it looks better on this site too but its most likely not going to see a reupload on youtube anytime soon. Hopefully those that decide to jump into remastering bad looking youtube AMV's check here to see if they already have a better version. Would seem like a lot of work for very little.

Re: AMV remasters
I have remastered a couple of videos:
I have quite a few more from the 90s and early 00s I would like to remaster. For example, ErMaC's "I Can't Move On."
Definite labors of love done really just for me.

Re: AMV remasters
Glad this is a thing. I have a video from 2006 (https://youtu.be/UtElPiyiVQI) that I did a decent job on, but I knew nothing about render settings or things of that nature when I uploaded it. YouTube threw the music and video out of sync a bit, and I messed up the aspect ratio or something, as its in a small box, so while it still got a lot of attention, the YouTube version is highly inferior. I've just picked back up the practice and will likely remaster my own video as my next project.
