I mean don't stop adding text if that is what you really want to do, my preference doesn't mean that it's "wrong" in any way. Just wanted to make that extra clear just in case it wasn't.

Considering the audience this feels intended for, I'd say you did a fantastic job editing this! I've never watched this anime but I feel like I've just felt all the emotions experienced by these characters, which really says a lot about how well placed your scenes were. I would've guessed this was a professionally made promotional music video if I didn't already know it was a fan-edit..
