It's that time again! MomoCon is now accepting entries for its 2024 AMV & V-MIX Competitions!
Entries will be accepted until Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024 @ 11:59 pm EST. Each AMV Contest finalist will receive a free 4-day membership to MomoCon 2024, and the winner of each category will receive a trophy and a $75 Cash Prize. We're also giving $100 to the Coordinator's Choice Award winner, and $500 to the Director's Choice Award winner.
MomoCon's AMV Contest welcomes submissions from all forms of animation. We also have a separate V-MIX (Video Remix) Competition for Cosplay Music Videos and Live Action submissions. V-MIX Competition winners will receive an award and a free membership to next year's convention (MomoCon 2025).
This year, we're encouraging editors to submit videos that match our 2024 theme of "Culinary Adventure". All accepted submissions to either the AMV or V-MIX Competition are eligible to win the “MomoCon Theme Award” and $50 cash prize regardless of their genre, content, or whether or not they make finals. This award doesn't have a designated category, so participants will still need to determine the best-fit category for their entry if submitting to the AMV Contest.

Rules and Guidelines
General:
- 1) Entries must comply with the Basic & Auxiliary guidelines outlined in the A-M-V.org CONGRSS Rules
2a) The AMV Contest allows submissions from all forms of Animation. This includes but isn't limited to non-Japanese animation like RWBY, Steven Universe, Genshin Impact, and League of Legends.
2b) The V-MIX Competition welcomes Cosplay Music Videos and Live Action submissions. Videos that primarily consist of animated footage are not eligible to be submitted.
3) Entries must be shorter than 6 minutes. Submissions to the AMV Contest must also be longer than 45 seconds.
4a) Entrants are only allowed to submit (1) video to a specific AMV Contest category. Also, entrants are allowed to submit to any (2) of the (6) categories. Entrants are allowed to submit to a 3rd AMV Contest category if one of their submissions is to either the Trailer or Comedy/ Parody category. Lastly, a specific video can not be submitted to more than one category.
4b) Entrants can submit up to 3 additional videos to the V-MIX Competition. Videos that primarily consist of animated footage are not eligible to be submitted.
5) All submissions must be sent by Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024 at 11:59 pm (EST).
The AMV contest has six categories. Entrants can select the best-fit category for their submission, but if our judges strongly disagree, it may be moved to a better-fitting category. *The V-MIX Competition doesn't have categories, so videos submitted to it will be judged against every other submitted video. The AMV Contest categories are as follows:

Action
Drama / Serious
Romance / Sentimental
Fun / Upbeat
Comedy / Parody
MP4 is the preferred file type for entries. We strongly discourage submitting any other media type.
Judging:
We'll select the top five videos from each category, and screen them during the convention. Finalists will be announced and notified via e-mail about a week after the submission deadline passes. AMV Contest submissions that aren't selected as finalists will be moved to the V-MIX Competition. During the AMV Contest screening (May 25th, 2024), MomoCon attendees will vote for the winners of each category. Once the votes have been tailed, the winners will be announced at the event and via Twitter https://twitter.com/MomoConAMVs . The AMV contest will also be streamed LIVE on MomoCon's Twitch channel http://www.twitch.tv/team/momocon
Unlike the AMV Contest, the V-MIX Competition doesn't have finalists. After the submission deadline passes, our panel of judges will select videos to receive specific awards that will be announced during the V-MIX Competition screening (May 26th, 2024).
In addition to the V-MIX awards and Category winners, there will also be the following awards:
- Editors' Choice: Chosen via online voting by AMV & V-MIX Competition Entrants
Judges' Choice: Chosen by MomoCon volunteer staff before the convention.
Phade's Phave: Special Guest Award chosen by Phade!
Coordinator's Choice: Chosen solely by the AMV Contest Coordinator (Erik Norelus "Kireblue")
Director's Choice: Chosen solely by the Co-Chair/ Founder of MomoCon (Jessica Merriman)
Awards & Prizes:
Anything not claimed will be shipped out immediately after the convention.
2024 AMV & V-MIX Submission Form
The form requires you to provide a download link of your video via a file-sharing service like Google Drive or Dropbox. Please ensure that the URL is a “shared” or “public” link. If your AMV is available for local download on A-M-V.org, you can provide a link to its video information page instead. If your video meets the necessary rules and requirements, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to you within 3 days. At any time, MomoCon reserves the right to not show or ultimately disqualify any video for any reason.
