TWO WEEKS OUT!

Hey y'all, one of the two assistant coordinators here, posting on behalf of yokochan2010! We have approximately two weeks left to submit!

Comedy, live action, and trailer/parody are all somewhat lacking in submissions right now, so if you are inclined and want a higher chance of making it to the finals...can't hurt to submit to one of those categories!
Just submitted my Comedy entry a few days ago.

Meanwhile, I'm working on an outline for a possible panel idea while also considering sending something to the 18+ Contest.

One Week Left!

There's one week remaining for submissions! We are still looking for Comedy, Trailer/Parody, and Live Action entries so if that sounds like you, get those videos in!

Panel submissions also close next week, but they close on the 1st! If you'll be at the con and want to run a panel, submit the form directly to AUSA programming and the schedule will be made based on that, along with the contests, showcases, and parodies (we have an exclusive one!) I'll check in mid week and make a new post once entries close.

A small note, at this point, we may get a lot of entries all at once and my semester just started up. So responses on entries might be a little slower than normal. That being said, if you don't receive an email from us in regards to an issue with your entry, you can safely assume your entry is fine and ready for judging! Judging will be happening shortly after and we'll announce it at that time.

Thanks again guys and we hope to see your entry!

I believe I just submitted the same NSFW/Naughty video twice by accident, sorry. I did send an e-mail out on July 28th about the replacement.

Hi, in my AMVs I sometimes like using sound and occasional lines directly from the anime (example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vUD5duFdoc).

Does rule 8 mean I have to remove all anime audio/speech to be eligible?

Sorry for the REALLY delayed response, I'm a full time student and my semester started Monday.

As to your question, yes. Due to legalities we cannot allow dub audio in AMVs (this protects both us as a department and the con itself). We have seen editors in the past use the Japanese audio, but we'd still advise against it.

It's the fiiiinal countdoooooown

:bzz2: :bzz2: :bzz2: :bzz2: :bzz: :bzz: :bzz: :bzz: :bzz:

Last weekend to submit is upon us. We are still light on Comedy, Trailer, but are especially short in Live Action! The NSFW contest, while we have enough submissions to operate, could also use a few more as well.

If you want better odds of making it to the finals, that's where you should go!

All categories submissions are welcome, of course! It ain't over till submissions are closed!

I've also got some good news. As your newly returning semi assistant coordinator, I am pleased to announce we have officially secured a different room for AMVs, one that is much more accessible and suitable than the amphitheatre. While the chairs were comfy and spacious, that room was VERY ill suited for an AMV Contest, combined with terrible a/v setup issues. Not to beat around the bush but that all made for a less than pleasant experience.

As has been stated, this year has afforded the team much more prep time, and we are taking full advantage of it! AUSA has always been special to me as it was the very first Anime Con I ever attended, and was involved with the AMV Contest for about 8 years prior to the pandemic. It is a privilege to now be able to return and assist in helping this contest build itself back up!
