SPECIAL THEME AWARD "Best Fun & Games"
Like last year’s “Best Classic” judges will award one entry of any category that best showcases the world of gaming. This can be presented in a variety of ways using tabletop games, video games, sports, school yard games, etc. Creativity in portraying the joy or agony of gaming, rather than just showcasing a game, is the goal (pun intended).
AUDIENCE AWARDS (as chosen by audience vote):
• Audience Best of Show
• Best of Category *with the exception of Best Short
• Justice for (non-finalist) Award – Audience will vote during a screening of the Best of the Non-Finalists and choose their one favorite.
JUDGES AWARDS (as chosen by Judging Committee and AMV Team – Eligible to ALL submitted entries):
• Best Short – This category will be determined by Judges, not audience vote.
• Judges’ Choice – Awarded to the entry that our Judging Committee deemed most deserving.
• Coordinator’s Choice – Awarded to any entry of the Event Coordinator’s choosing.
• Best Technical – Awarded to the entry deemed to have demonstrated exceptional technical finesse.
• Best Concept – Awarded to the entry deemed to have a clever and well executed concept.
• Best Fun & Games – THIS YEAR’S THEME - Awarded to the entry that best represents the World of Gaming.
In the past, we have used pre-show seating to highlight entries that did not make finals but still deserved recognition. We will no longer be showing non-finalists during the pre-show, but instead hold a screening of the best of the non-finalists in the AMV Theater at another time during the con, and the audience will vote for their favorite. The winner will be shown during the AMV Awards ceremony.
Please read full rules for further information. You may leave questions here or e-mail them to amv(AT)sakuracon.org.
SUPER EXCITED FOR THIS YEAR'S CROP!
